With the rise in avocado consumption in a health-conscious society, OXO reached out to ELEVEN to answer the demand for a thoughtful avocado tool. ELEVEN began by observing users and behaviors around the vast market of current avocado tools. We focused on optimizing two key interactions, mashing and scooping. This tool needed to allow the user to control the consistency of the mash, while minimizing the time it takes to fully mash. Through countless physical mockups, and mashed avocados, the team at ELEVEN was able to design and engineer an avocado tool that prioritized consistency, control, and cleanability of both the tool and the bowl being used, all while accommodating multiple grip positions and bowl shapes.

With the OXO Good Grips Smash and Scoop Avocado Tool, the user has control over consistency (be it creamy or chunky goodness).
