Our shared work centers on translating observation into intuitive, approachable tools that support people at all stages of life.

As baby-led weaning continues to gain momentum, OXO Tot partnered with ELEVEN to explore how the design of foundational feeding tools can shape a child’s earliest eating experiences. The team studied how infants and toddlers interact with spoons, bowls, and plates as they learn to scoop, grasp, and bring food to their mouths independently. Particular attention was paid to grip orientation, bite size, mess reduction, and how surface texture and form can guide emerging motor skills without frustration.

The OXO Tot Textured Plate and Spoons Set was designed to support confident self-feeding through form and material. The low-profile silicone plate with integrated texture helps keep food in place to encourage scooping and exploration, while the suction base provides stability at the table or on the go. The spoons offer a shallow, comfortable bite sized for small mouths and promote intuitive hand positioning. Together, the set creates a supportive, flexible foundation for joyful mealtimes, helping young eaters build independence, curiosity, and confidence as they learn.
